Making Your Profile Shine
Your profile is your volunteer identity on ActionGrid. A complete profile helps organizers match you with the right opportunities and helps other volunteers connect with you.
Why Your Profile Matters
A filled-out profile does a few important things:
• Organizers can see your skills and interests when assigning roles
• Other volunteers can find and connect with you
• You'll get better event recommendations based on your preferences
• Your achievements and hours are tracked and displayed for everyone to see
Your profile page — this is how other volunteers and organizers see you
Setting Up Your Profile
Tap your avatar in the bottom navigation to get to your profile. Here's what to fill in:
Photo
Add a profile photo so people recognize you at events. It doesn't have to be fancy — a clear, friendly headshot works great. Tap the camera icon to upload from your phone or take a new one.
Bio
Write a sentence or two about yourself. What causes do you care about? What got you into volunteering? Keep it casual — this isn't a job application.
The edit profile form — fill in as much or as little as you like
Interests
Select the causes that matter to you. This helps us recommend events and communities that match your passions. You can pick as many as you want:
• Climate & Environment
• Housing & Homelessness
• Healthcare
• Education
• Criminal Justice
• Immigration
• Voting Rights
• And more...

Availability
Let organizers know when you're generally free. Set your typical availability by day of the week and time (morning, afternoon, evening). This isn't a commitment — it just helps with scheduling suggestions.
Keeping Your Profile Updated
Your profile grows with you. As you volunteer, your hours, badges, and activity are automatically added. But it's a good idea to update your interests and availability every few months as things change.
Pro Tip
Profiles with a photo get 3x more connection requests from other volunteers. People like knowing who they'll be working with!
