Recording Your Results
Every door you knock and every conversation you have generates valuable data. Recording it accurately helps the campaign make smart decisions. Here's how to do it right.
Why Recording Matters
The data you enter at each door gets used in real ways:
• Supporters get follow-up communications and GOTV reminders
• Undecided voters get more attention from the campaign
• Opposed voters are deprioritized (no point wasting resources)
• Not-home voters get added to phone or text lists
Your fingers tapping that screen after each conversation literally shape the campaign's strategy.
How to Record a Response
• After your conversation (or non-conversation), tap the address on your walk list
• Select the result from the options (Supportive, Undecided, Not Home, etc.)
• Add any notes if something stood out — "Cares about school funding" or "Asked for a yard sign"
• If they want to volunteer, check the Volunteer Interest box
• Tap Save and move to the next door
Select the response that best matches your conversation
Response Categories Explained
• Strong Support — enthusiastic supporter, might volunteer or donate
• Lean Support — probably on your side but not committed
• Undecided — genuinely open, could go either way
• Lean Oppose — leaning the other way but open to conversation
• Strong Oppose — firmly against, unlikely to change
• Not Home — nobody answered after two knocks
• Refused — answered but declined to talk
• Moved / Wrong Address — person no longer lives there
Add notes to capture important details from the conversation
Be Honest
It's tempting to mark everyone as supportive, but accurate data is way more valuable than optimistic data. If someone was undecided, mark them as undecided. The campaign will thank you for it.
Syncing Your Data
Your responses sync to the campaign's database automatically when you have internet connection. If you're in an area with poor signal, don't worry — the app stores everything locally and syncs when you're back online.
You can check sync status by looking at the small cloud icon at the top of your walk list. A green check means everything's synced.
The sync indicator shows when all your data has been uploaded
