Setting Up Your Profile

Your ActionGrid profile is your volunteer identity. A well-filled profile helps you get better event recommendations, connect with other volunteers, and lets organizers know your skills and availability.

Accessing Your Profile

Tap your avatar or name in the bottom navigation to get to your profile. From there, tap Edit Profile to make changes.

Profile Photo

Adding a photo makes you recognizable to other volunteers and organizers. To add or change your photo:

• Tap the camera icon on your profile picture

• Choose to take a new photo or upload from your gallery

• Crop and adjust as needed

• Tap Save

A clear headshot works best. It doesn\'t need to be professional — just friendly and recognizable.

Bio

Your bio is a few sentences about who you are and why you volunteer. This shows up when people view your profile and when organizers review shift signups. Keep it casual:

• "Teacher by day, canvasser by weekend. Passionate about education equity."

• "New to volunteering but excited to make a difference in my community!"

• "Retired nurse who wants to help elect candidates who care about healthcare."

Interests and Causes

Select the issues you care about most. This directly affects which events and communities are recommended to you:

• Climate and Environment

• Housing and Homelessness

• Healthcare Access

• Education

• Criminal Justice Reform

• Immigration

• Voting Rights

• Economic Justice

• LGBTQ+ Rights

• Racial Justice

Pick as many as apply. You can change these anytime.

Select the causes you care about to get personalized recommendations

Availability

Setting your availability helps organizers know when you might be free. For each day of the week, indicate:

• Morning (before noon)

• Afternoon (noon to 5 PM)

• Evening (after 5 PM)

This isn\'t a commitment — it\'s just a general guide. You can always sign up for (or skip) any shift regardless of your availability settings.

Complete Profile Bonus

Filling out all profile fields (photo, bio, interests, availability) earns you the "Profile Star" badge. It also increases your visibility in community member directories.
