Streaks & Leaderboards

Streaks and leaderboards add a little friendly competition to volunteering. They\'re totally optional, but surprisingly fun once you get going.

How Streaks Work

A streak counts consecutive weeks of volunteering. Here\'s the deal:

• Complete at least one volunteer shift in a calendar week to keep your streak alive

• Your streak counter goes up by one each week you volunteer

• Miss a week and your streak resets to zero

Your current streak is displayed on your profile and dashboard. It\'s a simple but powerful motivator — once you\'ve got a 6-week streak going, you really don\'t want to break it!

Streak Protection

Life happens. You get one "streak shield" per month — if you miss a week, your streak is automatically protected once. After that, you\'ll need to volunteer to keep it going.

Leaderboards

Leaderboards show how you stack up against other volunteers. There are several leaderboards:

• Weekly — who volunteered the most hours this week

• Monthly — cumulative hours for the current month

• All-time — total career hours

• Community — rankings within each community you belong to

• Campaign — rankings within a specific campaign

Finding Leaderboards

Leaderboards are available in a few places:

• Your dashboard — a mini leaderboard widget shows your position

• Community pages — each community has its own leaderboard

• Achievements page — tap Leaderboards for the full view

Keeping It Friendly

Leaderboards are meant to inspire, not stress. A few things to keep in mind:

• Every hour counts equally — phone banking from home is just as valued as canvassing in the rain

• You can opt out of leaderboards in your privacy settings if you prefer

• Celebrate others\' achievements — a "nice work!" goes a long way

• The real competition is with yesterday\'s version of yourself
